2015 Oregon Soccer Fall Fury Tournament

Fall Fury Sponsor

Oregon Soccer Club is pleased to announce that our annual soccer tournament will celebrate its 26th year – and its second as the Fall Fury – from Sept. 18-20, 2015.

Last year's tournament included more than 140 teams playing on a beautiful fall weekend in south central Wisconsin. Playing host to a tournament in our hometown is a great source of pride, and is a tradition made possible by the dedication of our volunteers and the Oregon community. The Fall Fury is our club's largest fundraiser and helps us keep fees for all of our players at a reasonable rate. It also provides opportunities for local groups to fundraise and benefits area businesses.

Our tournament is open to both competitive and recreational teams. All teams ages Under-11 and older (including recreational teams) are required to have current 2015-2016 player pass cards for each player participating in the tournament, per Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association tournament sanctioning policy. Contact your WYSA district organization to obtain pass cards if needed. Players aged U11 and older without player pass cards will not be allowed to participate.

Kevin Gowrie Named DOC

Kevin GowrieOregon Soccer Club is pleased to announce the hiring of Kevin Gowrie as our Director of Coaching.

The 30-year-old Gowrie, a native of Perth, Scotland, started coaching in the U.S. in 2010 and has coached in Oregon for the past five years.

As the Director of Coaching, he will oversee OSC's coaches for recreational and competitive teams, provide guidance and instruction for our many volunteer coaches, create a club coaching philosophy and player curriculum, lead skill sessions for players during the winter months and oversee the annual tryout and team formation process in the spring. He will also continue to coach OSC teams.

The addition of Gowrie in this position will help OSC as we continue to develop players at all ages and skill levels - the club's primary mission - and offer the highest-quality, all-around youth development program in the area.

Gowrie played youth soccer for Athletico Blair, was selected for the Perth & Kinross regional teams at the Under-14, Under-16 and Under-18 age groups and represented Scotland at the Under-14 and Under-16 levels before starting his coaching career at St. Johnstone FC. He holds a degree in sports coaching from Edinburgh Napier University and "C" coaching licenses from the Scottish Football Association and the U.S. Soccer Federation.

OSC Equipment Trade-In Day

Used Soccer Equipment
Thanks to everyone who donated used soccer cleats, shinguards, balls and other gear to the inaugural Oregon SC Equipment Trade-In Day on Sunday.
Many of the items were selected by club players later in the day as they prepare for the upcoming season, and we donated the remaining cleats, shinguards, cleats and balls to Madison's Millennium Soccer Club.
OSC is planning to hold another Equipment Trade-In Day next year, most likely in early August 2016. We hope to be able to collect donations throughout the year for that event; details will be announced when finalized.
If you have any input about this year's Equipment Trade-In Day or our future plans with this program, please email Eric Anderson or Bryan Steffen.
